Pinnell’s began with a deep connection to the flooring trade. As a third-generation flooring store owner, Dan Pinnell was raised in the industry. He learned the business from an early age, working alongside his father and gaining respect for craftsmanship that would shape the company from the start.

At just 18, he opened a small flooring store in Angels Camp, laying the foundation for a business built on hard work and personal service.

Learning & Growing

In the years following the store’s opening, Pinnell’s focused on doing the work right, helping customers choose flooring that complements their homes, budgets, and lifestyles. Word spread locally, and the business grew through referrals and repeat customers.

Expanding to Serve More

As more homeowners turned to Pinnell’s, the business expanded to serve them better.

The original space was remodeled and enlarged, including the addition of a warehouse, allowing the team to support growing inventory, installations, and higher levels of service throughout the Mother Lode.

Evolving With the Industry

With a growing reputation and expanding expertise, the store entered a new chapter as D&B Custom Flooring.

This period reflected a continued commitment to quality craftsmanship, thoughtful product selection, and a more refined approach to helping customers create beautiful, functional spaces.

A New Chapter With Carpet One

Pinnell’s joined Carpet One Floor & Home, marking a new chapter for the business, while remaining locally owned and rooted in the same values on which it was built.

Carpet One is a nationwide cooperative of independently owned flooring stores, providing shared resources and support, while allowing each location to remain locally operated.

Serving Today’s Homes

Today, Pinnell’s Carpet One Floor & Home proudly serves customers in Calaveras, Tuolumne, and Amador counties, continuing the straightforward approach that has built the business—expert guidance, in-house trained installers, and a genuine commitment to doing the job right.
